Ladies Section

A welcome from the Ladies' section of the Dyke Golf Club
The Ladies at the Dyke have a well-deserved reputation for being friendly and welcoming

The club has a thriving Ladies’ section which is keen to welcome new members - we’d love to have an informal chat and game with any lady who might be thinking of joining us. We pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming, and make sure new members have a ‘buddy’ to support them, introduce them to other members and help them get involved in everything that’s going on. A new member recently told us ‘you are all such a lovely friendly crowd and I can’t wait to get back into the swing again’.

Whether you’re looking for competitive golf, or friendly social games with like-minded players, we have something to offer players of all levels. We play qualifying and fun events throughout the year, both on Tuesdays and at weekends. You don’t need to organise a partner, just sign up and get involved. We have teams in SCLGA Divisions 1, 2, and 3 playing matches across Sussex, and are actively involved in county events and other competitions.

We have a number of thriving roll up groups, including Saturdays and there are numerous mixed competitions at the weekend as well as friendly mixed matches against local clubs.

Perched at the top of the Downs, our course is rarely closed and we are fortunate to be able to use trolleys all year round (though umbrellas are less successful!) Whatever level you want to play at, we have something to offer including a range of different membership types to suit everyone.

I recently joined the Dyke as I was looking for a progressive club where female members are valued and have a voice. I immediately received a warm welcome from the women’s section, they made sure I knew how to sign up for competitions and roll-ups and that I always had someone to play with.

Besides the usual ladies competition day on a Tuesday, there is a thriving group who play together every Saturday morning, and there are many mixed competitions at the weekend. The course is great fun, with stupendous views, and there is a lovely vibe in and around the clubhouse and amongst the members.

I'd recommend the Dyke to anyone who is looking for a friendly, welcoming club and likes playing all year round on a great downland course
